The Oasis Parrot Sanctuary
We envision the day when there is no further need for parrot sanctuaries
Established in 1997, The Oasis Sanctuary is one of the largest and most respected parrot sanctuaries in the United States. Its vision is a clarion call to everyone involved in avian rescue.
The Oasis is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
It is committed to the compassionate care and lifelong welfare of displaced, abused, and exploited parrots. On its sprawling 72-acre rural property, the sanctuary provides a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for birds in need, while also promoting education, awareness, and advocacy for avian conservation.
Many of the birds who find refuge at The Oasis have “special needs,” limited social skills, or physical and emotional scars from years of neglect or trauma. For countless parrots, The Oasis is literally all that stands between life and death — the first place they have ever known true safety, understanding, and unconditional acceptance.
As a true sanctuary, The Oasis does not breed, adopt out, sell, or trade birds. Once a parrot arrives, she is guaranteed a lifetime of compassionate care: proper nutrition, veterinary support, safe housing, enrichment, and opportunities for flock socialization and flight in natural aviary environments where she can simply be a bird for the rest of her life.
At the Oasis, every parrot matters. Every feather. Every voice. Every life.
Today, more than 800 birds – ranging in size from tiny finches to giant macaws – call the Oasis home. We encourage you to visit their website https://the-oasis.org to learn more about this truly magical place.
