The Sockatoo Production Team

Sockatoo grew out of  lifelong love of companion birds and a deep respect for their intelligence, curiosity and need for enri0chment.  Over the years, our flock has included birds large and small, including rescues and special-needs parrots.

Like many parrot caregivers, we became frustrated by the lack of foraging toys that were both engaging and gentle – especially for birds prone to boredom, anxiety or feather-destructive behavior.  In collaboration with fellow parrot owners and with guidance from an avian veterinarian we began developing a soft, challenging alternative designed to keep parrots occupied, stimulated and content.

After extensive real-world testing by parrots of different sizes and species, the Sockatoo took shape,  What began as a single design evolved into multiple sizes in response to the needs of different birds and their caregivers.

Today, Sockatoo is a proudly woman-owned small business dedicated to the wellbeing and enrichmen of companion arrots, Thousnds of Sockatoos have found their wayy into homes, resues and sanctuaries across the US and Canada and we’re honored to be part of so many birds’ daily lives.
